Demolition Derby & Figure 8 Race Adds GameSpy Arcade Support

Auxiliary Power makes crashing cars online much easier

Ann Arbor, MI, February 12, 2002 - While some people are still buying racing games just to see how big an accident they can cause, many cyber drivers have discovered Demolition Derby & Figure 8 Race. In this game, you get credit for slamming into and bending your opponent's car. And now drivers can more easily test their skill against other drivers online.

Auxiliary Power, Inc. today announced that Demolition Derby & Figure 8 Race Version 1.10 is available and includes support for GameSpy Arcade. The new version will be shipped out today. It is available in box form or for immediate download. The game is available for sale online only through the Auxiliary Power web site at

"This is a big breakthrough for people wanting to play the game online," says John Ardussi, executive producer and founder of Auxiliary Power, Inc.. "The GameSpy Arcade interface makes it easy for even the non-expert to get into a multiplayer game. Also, it makes it easier to find opponents online to play against. These are things our customers have been asking for. And GameSpy Arcade was a great way to give it to them."

Once in a chat room, the host launches the game. It automatically then drops you into the game without the user having to know anything about IP addresses. Ardussi continues, "This is great for our customers because many are not the hard core gamers which play other games. Since this game is fun for everyone, we are attracting many customers who have never played an online game before. This is the simple interface we wanted for launching a multiplayer game and GameSpy Arcade helped us achieve it. Personally, I cannot wait to get up there and challenge a few people to some hearse races on the figure 8s."

This version also adds some fixes and features like improved A.I. driver intelligence and better support for low speed connections. And best of all, it is free to all current customers. The patch is available for free through the company's web site.

Demolition Derby & Figure 8 Race is priced as a value software title at $15 for the downloaded version, $20 for the box version and $22.50 for both. While its feature set rivals full priced software, its costs were kept under control to allow it to be sold at a lower price. At the same time, it does include advanced features like multiplayer play and support for such things as steering wheels and force feedback input devices.

Demolition Derby & Figure 8 Race is optimized for 3D acceleration but it is not required. Minimum system requirements are a Pentium II, 64MB of memory and a DirectX compatible video card. For any further information, you can access the company's web site at
